BALLET - LEVEL 2

CLASS PLAN DIRECTIONS:

  1. Below is the order of the daily class for Level 2.  

  2. Click on each element listed under the daily class (i.e. Reverence) to see all of the exercises associated with it. 

  3. Work on one exercise from each element every day. 

  4. Perfect it, then move to the next exercise.

  5. Whichever exercises you are working on at the barre, you will also do in the centre.  If you cannot get through the entire class, that is fine, but make sure whatever you do at the barre, you do in the center.  In level 2, Barre should be 1/2 of your class time, leaving the rest of the time for centre, allegro and across the floor.  NEVER SPEND THE WHOLE CLASS AT THE BARRE!

  6. Fun Exercises: These exercises are available to help keep the dancers having fun.  Sometimes the technical work can be hard for younger dancers.  Include these "Fun" exercises at points in the class where the dancers are losing interest.

BALLET 2 - THE DAILY CLASS

PART 1 - OPENING OF CLASS:

Dancers will begin in the Centre, feet in first position, arms in preparatory...

PART 2 - BARRE:

PART 3 - CENTRE:

There are two sections for centre, Part A (shown in RED) and Part B (shown in GREY).  Teachers do NOT do both each class.  Teach and train Part A exercises first, than once finished, move onto the Part B.

PART 4 - ALLEGRO:

Dancers train the allegro at the barre, and than in the centre.

PART 5 - ACROSS THE FLOOR:
